Special Announcement from Fr. Fisher

January 23, 2021

Dear Parishioners,

We regret to inform you that one of our parish office employees has tested positive with COVID-19.  The employee is in good condition and is working through the illness. We ask for your prayers.

While Father Bergida and I work in the office regularly, neither of us was in close contact with the individual.  Out of an abundance of caution, we are going to quarantine according to CDC standards.  We have conferred with the Fairfax County Department of Health and the Diocese of Arlington, both of which have validated our assessment of the situation.

While COVID is serious, most people have mild illnesses and are able to recover at home.   Our office employee is taking steps in according with the CDC guidelines, “What To Do If You Are Sick.”

We are notifying all persons who have been in “close contact” with the employee, and they are being encouraged to self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms of COVID in accordance with CDC Guidelines, “What To Do If You Are Sick.”   Close contact is defined as being with someone infected less than six feet for more than fifteen minutes.

At this time, our regularly scheduled Masses are covered for Sunday January 24th through Tuesday January 26th. We ask for your patience as we find more priests to cover all the regular scheduled Masses in the days ahead. Please check the parish website for updates.

Out an abundance of caution, we have already cleaned and sanitized the parish offices and public restrooms. Although in the coming week the parish office will be closed to the public, the parish staff will be accessible via email. It is our hope to have the parish office resume normal operations as soon as possible.

We conclude, by asking all of you to please continue praying for our parish, all who are sick, and all those who care for the sick

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Father Andrew Fisher

Pastor
